The Citadel Sports Network, in conjunction with Kirkman Broadcasting, has been broadcasting Bulldogs athletics for over 25 years. The Citadel Sports Network’s flagship station during football season is ESPN Radio 910 and the games are distributed statewide from the Charleston-based studios. All basketball games and a minimum of 20 baseball games air on Sports Radio 1450 in Charleston.
Danny Reed was named the Director of Broadcasting and the “Voice of the Bulldogs” football, basketball and baseball teams in August 2011. Reed, a 2007 graduate of Waynesburg University, spent the last three years as The Citadel Sports Network studio host and fill-in announcer while serving as the play-by-play announcer for the Charleston RiverDogs since the end of the 2008 season.
During the week, Reed can be seen hosting the weekly “Kevin Higgins Show” online at www.citadelsports.com. He also hosts “The Kevin Higgins Radio Show” on ESPN Radio 910 as well as the “Chuck Driesell Show” during basketball season on Sports Radio 1450.
Walt Nadzak, a Citadel Athletic Hall o f Famer, has served as the football color analyst since 2009. Nadzak earned his spot amongst other Bulldog greats by overseeing tremendous growth in the athletic department as the Director of Athletics from 1985-2000. Under Nadzak, the football team won the Southern Conference in 1992 and finished in a tie for the number one spot in the national polls. Baseball advanced to the 1990 College World Series, to this day remaining the only Southern Conference team to ever advance to the CWS. Nadzak also laid the foundation for the Altman Athletic Center and what has become the new Johnson Hagood Stadium.
