Kevin Higgins to Speak at South Carolina Coaches for Charity Event
Columbia, S.C. - Kevin Higgins will be among eight coaches featured at the Fourth Annual South Carolina Coaches for Charity event which will be held on July 31 at the Marriott Hotel in Columbia.
The event is sponsored by the Fisher DeBerry Foundation and will also include DeBerry (the former head coach at Air Force), Mike Ayers (Wofford), Bruce Fowler (Furman), Joe Moglia (Coastal Carolina), Buddy Pough (South Carolina State), Steve Spurrier (South Carolina) and Dabo Swinney (Clemson).
In addition to the state's head coaches, other attendees are expected to include formery honorary chairmen Willie Jeffries, Sam Wyche, Dan Radakovich, Ray Tanner, Jerry Richardson and Danny Morrison.
There are several charities as well as single-parent children across the state who have benefited from the support of the Fisher DeBerry Foundation and the Coaches for Charity event. Each coach will choose their own charitable beneficiary.
A new wrinkle has been added to the evening this year as each coach will choose their own Community MVP, which will be named in honor of Carolina Panthers owner Richardson, who received the award a year ago.
