Citadel Lady Bulldogs Football 101 Program Set for Late July
Just in time for the perfect Mother's Day gift, The Citadel Football Association has opened up registration for the fourth annual Lady Bulldogs Football 101 clinic, which will be held on Friday, July 26 on The Citadel campus.
The experience is open to women and teenage girls and the cost is $50 per person or two for $85. Those interested can register at www.cfabulldogs.org. Everyone in attendance will receive a goody bag, a t-shirt and two tickets to The Citadel-Charleston Southern game on August 31.
A portion of the clinic is tax deductible as proceeds directly benefit The Citadel Football Association's Scholarship fund.
The activities begin with a reception in Seignious Hall at 4:30 hosted by wives of The Citadel football coaches and includes tours of the training and equipment rooms. The coaching staff will discuss the basics of offensive and defensive football and there will be a weight room demonstration.
Then it's time to hit the field as all attendees travel to Johnson Hagood Stadium. From 7:15-8:00, the group will show off their passing and catching skills and take off on the "fun run to the end zone" to showcase their individual touchdown dances.
After the on-field practice, Kay Higgins - the wife of Bulldog head coach Kevin Higgins - will host a catered meal at the Pearson Lounge on the fourth floor of the stadium. Door prizes will be presented and an optional tour of the stadium suites and press box will follow the dinner.
