ON McCLADDIE: Emerged as one of the best cornerbacks in the conference in his second full season as the starter ... earned a spot on the second team media all-conference squad … one of only 54 players named to the FCS Athletics Directors Association’s academic all-star team for the 2102 season … has played in all 33 games over his three seasons with totals of 104 tackles, eight tackles for loss, six forced fumbles, six interceptions and seven other pass breakups ... bigger and more physical this year and has good speed, all factors which have led to his success ... coaching staff believes he will be a strong contender for all-conference honors this season.
JUNIOR (2012): Played and started in all 11 contests at cornerback … named to the second team media all-conference squad … led the team in forced fumbles (three), interceptions (two) and pass breakups (four) … recorded 45 tackles and three tackles for loss … forced two fumbles in a win over Georgia Southern to go along with five tackles and one tackle for loss … recorded interceptions in wins vs. Western Carolina and Elon … forced a fumble in a victory over Appalachian State … had a career-high eight tackles in the season finale vs. Furman.
SOPHOMORE (2011): Started all 11 games at cornerback and finished the year with 42 tackles, with three coming behind the line of scrimmage, two interceptions, five pass breakups and a pair of forced fumbles ... tied for eighth in the Southern Conference with seven total passes defensed ... had season-high six tackles each vs. Furman, Chattanooga and Wofford and two tackles for loss vs. Georgia Southern ... intercepted passes vs. Chattanooga (30-yard return) and Georgia Southern (21 yards).
FRESHMAN (2010): Saw action in all 11 games with starts vs. Georgia Southern and Elon late in his redshirt freshman season ... had 17 tackles, two tackles for loss, two interceptions and a forced fumble ... made a season-high four tackles vs. nationally-ranked Arizona and picked off passes vs. Appalachian State and Georgia Southern.
HIGH SCHOOL: A 2009 graduate of Evans High School ... lettered four times in football and basketball, three times in baseball and once in track and field ... had totals of 116 tackles and 11 interceptions over his final three seasons ... also caught 26 passes for 262 yards and two touchdowns his junior year ... named to all-county and all-region teams as an all-purpose player as a junior and was named all-area and all-county at defensive back his senior season when he helped lead team to a 10-1 record and region championship.
PERSONAL: Son of Henry and Lynne McCladdie ... brother, Hank, played baseball at Morehouse from 2005-09 ... graduated from The Citadel with a bachelor's degree in business administration and is pursuing his master's degree at The Citadel Graduate College.
