Orces, Sperr Head to Clemson to Compete in Duckworth Fall Tennis Classic
Charleston, S.C. – David Orces and Elliott Sperr have been selected by head coach Kemper Baker to represent The Citadel tennis team at the Duckworth Fall Tennis Classic host by Clemson this weekend at the Hoke Sloan Tennis Center.
Orces and Sperr will compete against a field of competitors from Armstrong Atlantic, Augusta State, Clemson, Lipscomb, Mercer and Wofford.
Men's draw play will begin at 9 a.m., and will consist of four men's singles and two doubles flights.
Sperr, competing in his second tournament this fall, is scheduled to face off against Mercer's Arsav Mohanty in the first round of Flight-4 play at 10:30 a.m., Friday morning.
Orces, coming off spectacular performances at the USC Upstate Fall Classic and Southern Intercollegiate Championships, is set to go head-to-head against August State's Jan Labas in Flight-1 action early Friday morning at 9:00 a.m.
The Bulldog duo will pair up later in the day at 12:30 p.m., to take on Lipscomb's Miguel Cortez and John Tougher in Flight-2 of doubles draw.
