Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel tennis team made a late addition to its fall schedule as David Orces will travel to Orlando, Fla., this weekend to compete in the inaugural USTA Clay Court Invitational. The event, which is hosted by Florida State, will take place on the campus of ESPN Wide World of Sports Tennis Complex located at Walt Disney World.
Joining Orces is a cast of top collegiate players from nine ranked teams around the country including No. 1 Southern California and No. 7 Kentucky.
Orces is slated to play Florida State's Andres Bucaro in the opening round on Friday at 11:30 a.m., in the Garnet singles draw bracket.
The Guayaquil, Ecuador, native has amassed a remarkable resume during his fall campaign including a 14-4 singles record through five tournaments, a finals appearance in the Division-II singles at the Southern Intercollegiate Champions and a singles draw championship at the USC Upstate Fall Classic.
