Citadel Men?s Rifle Tops N.C. State in SEARC Season Opener

Dahlonega, Ga.--The Citadel Rifle team captured the opening match of the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference (SEARC) on the campus of North Georgia College and State University. The Bulldogs men's team took NCAA match honors after firing a total of 2,261, finishing ahead of N.C. State (2,255) and Wofford (2,143). The women's team, behind 2,191 points, placed third overall in the competition and defeated Wofford (2,143).

The Bulldogs were led individually by Winston Dorian, who tallied 573, while Julia McCullohs led the women's squad with a score of 564. Also finishing with solid competitions were Steven Kinn (572) of the men's team and Terri Craig (559) for the women.

The Citadel returns to action hosting the SEARC 2 competition Oct. 16 followed a competition against the University of Alaska Fairbanks on Tuesday, Nov. 2. For more information on The Citadel Rifle, visit the official website of The Citadel Athletics at www.CitadelSports.com.
