Citadel Rifle Takes First Place in SEARC 3 to Remain Undefeated in Conference Competition
Anniston, Ala. - The Citadel Rifle team took first place out of seven teams in both the Southeastern Air Rifle Conference and NCAA competitions this weekend in Anniston, Ala. to remain undefeated in conference play.
The Bulldogs claimed the match victory by defeating SEARC rival, N.C. State for the third time this season with a total air rifle score of 2265, 22 points better than the Wolfpack who finished second. North Georgia State College and University took third place firing a total score of 2243. Also competing in the SEARC match were conference foes Clemson, Georgia Military College. Mercer, Wofford.
Sophomore Winston Dorian led all shooters firing a 571 to capture the individual crown, while senior teammate Stephen Kinn followed in second place shooting a 567. Sophomore Julia McCullohs led the women in NCAA competition with a score of 554.
