Bulldog Rifle Team to Host Top Ranked TCU Saturday at The Citadel Marksmanship Center

Charleston, S.C. - The Citadel Rifle team will battle against their toughest competition yet this season when they host NCAA's top ranked Texas Christian University on Saturday, Nov. 13. in their final match of the 2010 fall season.

This will be the Bulldogs' third NCAA contest of the season with a schedule that has seen them face the last two NCAA National Champions, TCU and University of Alaska-Fairbanks. The cadets came away with a win against VMI in the season-opener in Lexington, Va., but were downed in their second NCAA competition, losing to University of Alaska-Fairbanks in Charleston last weekend.

Sophomore shooter Julia McCullohs has led the women's team in four of the five contests this season, with an air rifle average of 557 per match, firing her season-best 572 at the SEARC 2 in Charleston on Oct. 16. Senior Stephen Kinn leads the men with a remarkable 570.8 average per match, including an impressive season-high 578 at the SEARC 2 competition and 576 against University of Alaska-Fairbanks.

The match against TCU on Saturday will mark the last competition of the 2010 fall season. The Citadel Rifle team will continue action on January 15-16, 2011 at The Citadel Marksmanship Center where they will face Army and N.C. State in their fourth NCAA match of the year.
