Dorian, McCullohs Look to Lead Perfect Bulldogs in SEARC 6 and NCAA Sectionals

Charleston, S.C. - Bulldog leaders Winston Dorian and Julia McCullohs will look to continue their stellar sophomore seasons and try to maintain their team's undefeated record in the conference this weekend as the Cadets host the sixth Southeastern Air Rifle Conference competition of the season.

The Citadel Marksmanship Center will be busy all weekend as top shooters from all over the country will come to Charleston to compete in the SEARC 6 conference match and the NCAA Air Rifle and Smallbore Sectional finals on Saturday and Sunday.

In his second year with the Bulldogs, Dorian has maintained a team-leading air rifle average of 572.36 and led all Cadets in 8-of-11 air rifle competitions this season. Dorian carded his career-best score in an open NCAA match on Jan. 29 against the Air Force Academy, firing a 582.

"Dorian is a level-headed shooter who always maintains his composure. His scores and technique have continued to improve throughout this entire season, and he is about to be considered with the best," said Coach William Smith.

McCullohs has continued to improve throughout the season and has emerged as the statistical and motivational leader of the women's rifle team. She leads all female shooters with an air rifle average of 560.73 points per match, firing her personal best of 577 at an NCAA competition against Air Force on Jan. 30 at The Citadel Marksmanship Center.

"Julia is a natural born leader. She is always very well organized and focused in practice, which makes everyone around her work harder," said Smith.

The Bulldogs are focused on finishing the season strong and bringing the SEARC Championship trophy back to The Citadel for the first time since 2001.
