Bulldog Rifle Set to Host UAB at the Marksmanship Center

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel Rifle team will host the University of Alabama-Birmingham on Saturday, Oct. 22 in the Daniel K. Inouye Marksmanship Center for an open NCAA match. The dual will include both smallbore and air rifle competition.

The Bulldogs, who had last week off, have recorded a pair of second place finishes in their first two conference matches of the 2011-12 season, including an NCAA open match at The Citadel Invitational on Oct. 8-10 against No. 1 ranked Texas Christian University, Columbus State and Jacksonville State.

Junior captain Julia McCullohs stepped up last match to lead all Bulldog shooters with an air rifle score of 569. Finishing behind McCullohs was freshman marksman Robert Jackson, who fired a career-high 568, and senior captain Kristofer Small who recorded a 567.

The Bulldogs have topped the Blazers in each of their last four meetings with the last coming on Feb. 4, 2011 when The Citadel edged UAB, 2275-2200, at the Daniel K. Inouye Marksmanship Center.
