Bulldog Marksmen Set to Compete at SEARC 2
Charleston, S.C. – After a short break for Parent's Weekend The Citadel rifle team will be back in action as it treks to Milledgeville, Ga., to compete in the second of seven Southeastern Air Rifle Conference matches this weekend. The Bulldogs took second place in the season-opening conference match on Sept. 29.
The Citadel shooters last competed in an open NCAA match against powerhouse programs, TCU, Jacksonville State and Columbus State on Oct. 6 at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.
Robert Jackson and Richard Hunton both led all Bulldog shooters in air rifle with marks of 575. The score was Hunton's career best and tied Jackson's personal best. Jackson also carded a collegiate career-best small bore score of 564. Senior captain Julia McCullohs led all Bulldog women, carding an air rifle mark of 569 and small bore score of 525.
As a team the Bulldogs carded an aggregate score of 4,511 to finish in fourth place behind the three ranked teams.
