Milledgeville, Ga. – The Bulldogs took second place this weekend at the second Southeastern Air Rifle Conference match of the season behind an impressive performance by Cadet marksman Robert Jackson, who posted a season-high 577.
NC State took first place overall for the second consecutive match, edging out The Citadel with a score of 2,312. Wolfpack shooter Maddy Pike took the individual crown in both air rifle (587) and smallbore (582).
Jackson's 577 was a personal-best for the sophomore who has lettered in three of the four matches this season. Nathaniel Moy (566), William Wutzer (565) and Franklin Wright (564) rounded out the top four for the Bulldogs' conference team.
In Sunday's NCAA smallbore action, Jackson led the way for The Citadel with another season-best mark as the Roswell, Ga., native carded a 563 to earn his first smallbore letter of the season.
The Bulldogs will have a week off before welcoming conference rival NC State and third ranked Kentucky to the Inouye Marksmanship Center on Nov. 4-5 for an open NCAA match.
