Jackson Fires Career-Best 581 to Lead Bulldogs Against No. 3 Kentucky and No. 15 NC State
Charleston, S.C. – Robert Jackson carded an impressive air rifle mark of 581 to lead all Bulldogs in Saturday's NCAA open match against No. 3 Kentucky and No. 15 NC State. The Citadel rifle team finished the match in third place with an aggregate score of 4,409.
Jackson has now led his team in air rifle in four of the team's five matches this season and has eclipsed his air rifle career-best in consecutive weeks. The sophomore also led the Bulldogs in small bore action, firing a mark of 557.
Pacing Jackson was William Wutzer who posted an air rifle score of 573. The Wright brothers, Franklin and Thor, rounded out the top-5 for The Citadel with marks of 572 and 570, respectively.
Kentucky took the team crown with an aggregate total of 4,686 while the Wolfpack took second place with a total of 4,604. Kentucky's Emily Holsopple took first place in small bore with a mark of 590. Teammate Jon Pinkel carded an air rifle score of 591 to lead all shooters in the event.
