Bulldog Rifle Prepares for SEARC 3 Competition

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel rifle team, who entered the NCAA rankings this week at No. 20, will host its third competition of the season on Saturday when the Bulldog shooters welcome Southeastern Air Rifle Conference foes to the Inouye Marksmanship Center for the season's third conference contest.

A week ago The Citadel hosted No. 3 Kentucky and No. 15 NC State in an NCAA Open match. Robert Jackson continued his impressive sophomore campaign, firing a career-high 581 in air rifle to lead all Bulldogs. Jackson also led the Bulldogs in small bore action, firing a mark of 557.

Jackson has led his team in air rifle in four of the team's five matches this season and has eclipsed his air rifle career-best in consecutive weeks.

The Bulldogs have finished in second place, behind NC State, in each of the first two conference matches.

Full results and recap will be posted following the conclusion of Sunday's competition.
