Citadel Marksmen Head to Dahlonega for SEARC 5

Charleston, S.C. – The Bulldog rifle team is set to compete in its first Southeastern Air Rifle Conference match of the new year and fifth of the season when it heads to Dahlonega, Ga., on Saturday.

The Citadel last trekked to North Georgia College & State University on Sept. 29 when it took second place in the first SEARC match of the season. Richard Hunton recorded a career-best mark of 579 in that match, while the Citadel trio of Franklin Wright (573), Robert Jackson (572) and William Wutzer (572) finished in seventh, eighth and ninth place, respectively, to close out the team's top four spots.

The Bulldogs took third place in an NCAA open match against No. 6 Army and No. 14 NC State at the Inouye Marksmanship Center.

Robert Jackson continued his impressive sophomore campaign, firing the team's highest air rifle score for the sixth time in eight contests this season. Jackson also led all Bulldog shooters in smallbore action with a mark of 562.
