Citadel Golf Completes Fall Slate at 2012 Palmetto Intercollegiate

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel golf team wraps up the fall portion of the 2012 schedule this weekend at the Palmetto Intercollegiate hosted by College of Charleston. The tournament will take place at the par-72, 5,906-yard Oak Point Course on Kiawah Island.

A total of 18 teams, including three from the Southern Conference, will compete in the event. Elon joins the Bulldogs and Cougars from the SoCon, while nationally-recognized programs such as Kansas, Maryland, Michigan, South Florida and Xavier will also compete in the field.

In The Citadel's last tournament, freshman Erica Manor, who appeared in her fourth tournament this fall, fired a three-round score of 237 (+21) and finished in a six-way tie for 36th at the Wendy's Invitational at Rivertowne Country Club.

Manor opened the tournament with scores of 76 and 78 before posting a final round 83. Teammate Erica Pellegrini fired consecutive rounds in the 70s (74, 77), but was forced to withdraw before the start of the final round.

The Citadel also received solid outings from Kellie Anderson (81-81-92—254), who placed 67th, Hollie Salvo (83-85-91—259) and Amelia Goodwin (104-91-100—295).
