Bulldogs Prepare For Edwin Watts Intercollegiate

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel golf team is set to compete in its second tournament of the spring season this weekend when the Dogs head to Kiawah Island for the Edwin Watts Intercollegiate.

The three-day tournament, hosted by College of Charleston, will take place at the Oak Point Golf Course (par-72; 5,907 yards) and Cougar Point Courses (par-72, 6,001 yards) beginning on Sunday and concluding on Tuesday.

A total of 34 teams, including five from the Southern Conference, will compete in the event. Among the non-conference participants include Bucknell, Central Arkansas, Newberry, Presbyterian, St. Johns, Towson and Western Kentucky. 

Last Time Out / Manor Posts Top 10 Finish at SCAD Invitational: Citadel freshman Eraina Manor opened the spring golf season with a two-day score of 158 (+14) and tied for 10th at the Savannah College of Art & Design Invitational which took place at The Club of Savannah Harbor's par-72, 5,900-yard course.

The Bulldogs posted a score of 649 (341-328, +93) as host Savannah College of Art & Design captured the tournament crown with a score of 615, three shots better than Lander. Lee University rounded out the top three finishers with a 622 over the two-day event.

Manor (81-77—158), who was the only Bulldog to post a round in the 70s, became just the fifth golfer in program history to finish in the top 10 of a tournament. She was nine shots better than teammate Kellie Anderson who shot a 23-over 167 (85-82) for the tournament.

Other Citadel scorecards included TaKima Butler (85-86—171), who placed 44th, Hollie Salvo (91-83—174) and Amelia Goodwin (90-96—186).

Top individual honors went to Lander's Teresa Hernani who shot a 145 (+1) for the tournament, including a final round 74. Second place went to Courtney Shelton (Lee) with a 147 (73-74, +1) and rounding out the top three was Sofia Molinaro (SCAD) who fired a 148 (75-73, +4).
