MATCH NOTES - The Citadel vs. Davidson
Charleston, S.C. – When The Citadel and Davidson square off on Thursday at 7:30 p.m. in McAlister Field House it will mark the 50th dual meet between the two programs dating back to the 1963-64 season. The Citadel grapplers look to continue domination on the Wildcats as the Bulldogs hold an astonishing 48-0-1 mark against the conference foe.
The Citadel holds a 3-7 record over the last decade in conference home openers with its last win coming against Davidson on Dec. 18, 2010.
The Bulldogs are coming off a strong showing at the competitive Nittany Lion Open last Sunday where No. 7-ranked Ugi Khishignyam took third place in the 141-pound division. Unattached teammate Turtogtokh Luvsandorj also took third at 174, while heavyweight Odie Delaney nabbed fourth place.
Davidson enters the match with six duals under its belt, coming away with victories in five of them. Most recently, the Wildcats swept the Sacred Heart Tri-Meet which included Sacred Heart and Roger Williams University. Davidson's only loss came on Nov. 15 when it was downed 40-3 by fourth-ranked Ohio State.
