All-Academy Championships Website (With Brackets & Results)

Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel wrestling team will take a break from dual action for the weekend as it heads to West Point, N.Y., to compete against seven military institutions in the 19th-annual All-Academy Military Championships.

The Bulldogs will take on grapplers from Air Force, Army, Coast Guard, Navy, Norwich Academy, Merchant Marine Academy and VMI. The Midshipmen will look to defend their title for the fifth consecutive year.

Odie Delaney, who won the heavyweight division in last year's championship, will look to defend his title again in 2013. The redshirt senior is just two wins shy of passing Ryan McClester for third most in Citadel history.

Delaney currently leads the Southern Conference with 11 pins and enters the competition having won seven consecutive bouts.

Matt Frisch will represent The Citadel in the 157-pound division and has accumulated a record of 21-11 during his first collegiate season. The redshirt freshman is riding a six match winning streak which has included four major decisions, a fall and a decision.

Eighth-ranked Ugi Khishignyam looks to collect his 30th win of the season at 141-pounds, while Summerville native Aaron Hansen is likely to see a rematch in a few of his bouts as the 133-pounder has faced grapplers from Army, Air Force, Navy and VMI earlier this season.

Doors open Saturday at 9 a.m. with the preliminaries on tap to begin at 10 a.m.  The semifinals are slated for noon, the consolation semis at 2 p.m. and the championship finals at 4 p.m.

Admission for the day is $6 for adults and $4 for youth and senior citizens.  There will be no live scoring or video, however, Army has set up a tournament web site where brackets and results will be updated.
