Delaney, Khishignyam and Groselle Earn Recognition from The Citadel Board of Visitors

Charleston, S.C. – All-American wrestlers Odie Delaney and Ugi Khishignyam, along with basketball player Mike Groselle, were honored in a ceremony at Bond Hall on Wednesday by the Board of Visitors.

The athletes were presented a letter of congratulations and an engraved Citadel coin by Doug Snyder, chairman of the Board of Visitors.

Khishignyam and Delaney earned All-America honors at the 2013 NCAA Wrestling Championship, becoming just the second and third grapplers in school history to accomplish the feat.

Ugi concluded the tournament in fourth place, the highest finish in program history, and became the first Bulldog to advance to the semifinal round.

Delaney tallied three pins en route to a seventh-place finish in the heavyweight division and posted his 125th career win to move the senior into a tie for first place in Citadel history. Delaney will graduate on Saturday with a degree in criminal justice and begin working for the Charleston Police Department.

Groselle earned several postseason accolades, highlighted by his selection as one of 10 finalists and a first team All-American for the Senior CLASS award. He was chosen to the All-Southern Conference team by the coaches and media and merited a spot on the CoSIDA Academic All-District squad.

The Plano, Texas, native finished his career ranked second in school history with 738 rebounds and a field goal percentage of 58.9.  He is also the seventh-leading scorer at The Citadel with 1,359 points.

Groselle will graduate on Saturday with a 3.7 grade point average in civil engineering.
