Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team will complete their non-conference schedule on Monday when it heads to Charleston Southern to take on the Buccaneers at 3 p.m. The game is a makeup from the Bulldogs' season opener that was postponed due to inclement weather.

The Bulldogs are looking to avenge a 2-1 loss against the Bucs last season on Washington Light Infantry Field. Following a 30th minute goal by Vanessa Aponte, Charleston Southern scored two second half goals to down The Citadel.
Garcia, Aponte Chasing History…
The tandem of Vanessa Aponte and Garcia have been chipping away at the Bulldog record books since joining the team in 2009. With her four goals on the season, Garcia has moved into a tie for second place all-time with 21 career goals. The Bogota, Colombia, native is also first all-time in game winners with 10, second all-time with 73 shots on goal and third in program history with 47 career points.
Aponte, who is tied for fifth in the conference averaging three shots per game, now has 152 in her career as she chases the school record of 165 set by Kelly Pesterfield. Aponte is also just one assist shy of tying program record holders Nicole Martinoli and Lauren Merchant.
