Bulldog Soccer Volunteers with Special Olympics
Charleston, S.C. – The Citadel women's soccer team worked with the Special Olympics at Patriots Point in Mt. Pleasant. The Bulldogs ran a training session for the athletes and finished up with a scrimmage game.
The Special Olympics of the Lowcountry strives to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for persons eight years of age and older with intellectual disabilities, giving them continuing opportunities to develop physical fitness, demonstrate courage, experience joy and participate in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes, and the community.
The Bulldogs are set to open up Southern Conference action at home this weekend against Furman on Friday, Sept. 21 at 4 p.m., followed by a 2 p.m. match against Wofford on Sunday, Sept. 23.
