October 10, 2010 Women's Volleyball Davidson Holds Off Citadel Charge In Three Sets The combination of Tatum Jestila and Jessica Maas, who finished with a combined 18 kills, 19 digs and three blocks, was not enough for The Citadel Volleyball to overcome a 25-21, 25-23, 25-16 loss against Davidson at McAlister Field House on Sunday afternoon.
October 8, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Begin Four Match Home Stretch this Weekend The Citadel Volleyball team begins a four-match homestand during Parent's Weekend when it welcomes Georgia Southern and Davidson to McAlister Field House. The road weary Bulldogs, who have split a pair of home games this season, return to the court on Saturday against Georgia Southern at 7 p.m. The weekend continues with a meeting against Davidson on Sunday at 2 p.m.
October 3, 2010 Women's Volleyball Jestila Caps Off Weekend With Seventh Double-Double Tatum Jestila capped off the weekend with a 13 kill, 23 dig performance, however it was not enough as The Citadel fell in four sets to Wofford (17-25, 18-25, 25-16 and 19-25) on Saturday evening. Teammates Kaona Mercer (10 kills) and Kathryn Johnston (17 kills) also had solid outings for the Bulldogs.
October 2, 2010 Women's Volleyball Furman Downs The Citadel in Three Sets Despite a team-high nine kills from Kaona Mercer and eight kills each from Rachael Farrell and Tatum Jestila, The Citadel Volleyball team was unable to overcome Furman by scores of 25-18, 25-18 and 25-18 on Friday evening. The trio combined for 25 of the team's 35 total kills and were integral in the Bulldogs finishing with a .204 attack percentage in the match.
September 30, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Square Off with Furman and Wofford in Weekend Matches The Citadel Volleyball wraps up a four match road stretch this weekend when the team heads to in-state rivals Furman and Wofford. The Bulldogs are seeking their first Southern Conference victory of the season, and the all-time series, in Friday's match with the Paladins. The Dogs then travel to Wofford and look to break a three match losing skid against the Terriers.
September 27, 2010 Women's Volleyball Gamecocks Down Bulldogs In Four Sets The Citadel's Kaona Mercer finished with a team-high 11 kills, in front of her hometown crowd, however South Carolina emerged with the four-set match victory by scores of 25-20, 25-18, 24-26 and 25-11. Mercer capped off her performance by finishing with a .286 attack percentage along with pair of blocks.
September 26, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Struggle In Loss At Appalachian State The Citadel Volleyball team struggled to find its rhythm in a match at Southern Conference foe Appalachian State by scores of 13-25, 20-25 and 16-25. Sophomore Cassie Uribe led the Cadets with seven kills while teammate Rachael Farrell topped the defensive unit with 11 digs.
September 24, 2010 Women's Volleyball Citadel Volleyball Heads to Appalachian State and South Carolina The Citadel Volleyball team prepares for a pair of weekend matches with Appalachian State and South Carolina. On Saturday, the Bulldogs meet Appalachian State at 7 p.m. for their first road game in Southern Conference action. The Citadel will then head to the University of South Carolina for a 4 p.m. meeting with the Gamecocks.
September 22, 2010 Women's Volleyball Cougars Face Tough Challenge From Bulldogs In Four Sets Tatum Jestila led The Citadel Volleyball team with a match-high 20 kills, but it was not enough as the College of Charleston overcame an opening set loss to win by scores of 20-25, 25-21, 28-26 and 25-21 at McAlister Field House. Jestila, along with teammates Jessica Maas and Kaona Mercer who finished with 11 kills each, led the Bulldogs to a .199 attack percentage behind 54 team kills.

State Invitational The Citadel Volleyball split a pair of Saturday matches at the South Carolina State Invitational. After opening the morning session with a sweep of host S.C. State, the Cadets fell in a grueling five-set match to N.C. Central 20-25, 25-18, 25-13, 23-25, 10-15 in the afternoon. The duo of Kaona Mercer, who finished a team-high 12 kills, and Jessica Maas (10 kills, 9 digs) led the way for The Citadel offense.

Led by Tatum Jestila's double-double (14 kills, 10 digs) and Blaine McAllister's 10 kills, the Bulldogs earned their fourth win of the season in the first match of the S.C. State Invitational.

Bucherl led The Citadel with 74 assists and 36 digs, both team highs, in four matches over the past week.

September 11, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Collect Wins Over USC Upstate and Norfolk State The Citadel Volleyball completed a pair of wins on Saturday matches at the Comfort Suites Coastal Carolina Invitational with a sweep of Norfolk State by scores of 25-11, 25-15, 25-17. Behind the performances of Cassie Uribe (12 kills, three assisted blocks) and Kaona Mercer (11 kills, two assisted blocks) the Bulldogs dominated the front row with 34 kills and a .391 hitting percentage.
September 9, 2010 Women's Volleyball The Citadel Volleyball Takes Home First Victory of the Season Amanda Beal finished with nine kills to help lead The Citadel Volleyball team to a 25-7, 25-7, 25-15 victory over Savannah State on Wednesday night at McAlister Field House. The Bulldogs, who had nine players finish with at least one kill, controlled the front with a .470 hitting percentage. With the victory, the Cadets have won each of the last 14 games against the Tigers, dating back to 2002 season.

September 4, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Volleyball Experiences Rough First Day at Bear Brawl The Citadel Volleyball opened their second tournament in as many weekends with a pair of losses on Friday to Tennessee-Martin and Presbyterian College. The Bulldogs opened with a 25-17, 25-15, 25-13 loss to UT-Martin in the early session. In the second match, the Blue Hose overcame an early 1-0 deficit to hold off The Citadel by scores of 19-25, 25-13, 25-20 and 26-24.
September 4, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bears Stave Off Tough Bulldog Squad Tatum Jestila led The Citadel Volleyball team with a double-double that included 10 kills and 18 digs, however Mercer emerged with a 25-22, 25-23, 25-22 victory. Jestila, the senior outside hitter, garnered All-Tournament recognition and finished with 28 kills and 38 digs in the three matches.
September 2, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs Head to Mercer Tournament for Weekend Matches The Citadel Volleyball team will participate in their second tournament in as many weekends when they head to Mercer University's Bear Brawl on Sept. 3-4. The Bulldogs will compete in a series of matches against Tennessee-Martin, Presbyterian College and Mercer, seeking their first victory of the 2010 season.
September 1, 2010 Women's Volleyball Bulldogs and Buccaneers Battle To Five-Game Thriller The Citadel overcame a two-game deficit in the match before Charleston Southern emerged with a 25-20, 25-23, 19-25, 19-25, 15-9 victory. Senior Tatum Jestila led the Bulldogs with a double-double (18 kills, 24 digs) while teammate Jessica Maas added 12 kills. Joining Jestila with double figure digs was Rachael Farrell (22), Kathryn Johnston (22) and Shannon Frain (12).

August 29, 2010 Women's Volleyball SIU-Edwardsville, Indiana State Hold Off The Citadel in Volleyball Tilt The Citadel Volleyball completed their first weekend of action with a pair of losses on Saturday afternoon to SIU-Edwardsville and Indiana State. In the early afternoon contest, the host Cougars edged the Bulldogs 25-18, 25-13 and 25-13. Indiana State followed with a tough fought 25-14, 25-18, 26-24 match against The Citadel. Leading the way were outside hitters Kaona Mercer (14 kills, four assisted blocks) and Tatum Jestila (12 kills, 21 digs).

The game marked the season opener for both teams, who are participating in the SIU-Edwardsville Tournament.

The Citadel opens the season ranked sixth in the South Division of the Southern Conference Preseason Poll.

April 30, 2010 Women's Volleyball The Carolyn Geiger Volleyball Camp Slated To Start July 23 Carolyn Geiger is entering her fifth season as head coach of The Citadel Volleyball program. Under her reign, the program has seen its greatest success both overall and within the Southern Conference. In her first three seasons, she recorded more wins than the program had previously earned in its history. Through her camps, Geiger hopes to promote the sport of volleyball among the community and, as a result, gain support for a young program that is making great strides to becoming a contender in the Southern Conference.
