Orlando, Fla. – The Citadel men's cross country team placed two runners in the top 10 to finish in third place out of 23 teams at the Disney Classic on Saturday held on the campus of ESPN's Wide World of Sports.
Danielle McKee placed 10th in the women's race to lead her team to 11th place out of 27 teams.
Seniors Kyle Keene and Austin Waldrop finished in seventh and 10th place, respectively, in a field of 190 collegiate runners to score impressive finishes in the men's 8k race. Keene, who was the overall winner in last week's Bulldog Invitational, ran a time of 26:10, while Waldrop finished at 26:30.
McKee, who has now led the Bulldogs in each of her 16 collegiate races, finished with a time of 19:25. A trio of freshmen runners, Jacqueline Thompson (20:47), Jessica DeWitte (21:22) and Callian Colquitt (21:26) paced McKee in the 5k race.
The Bulldogs will host the annual Will Wilson Citadel Invitational on Saturday, Oct. 13 at Laurel Hill Plantation in Mt. Pleasant, S.C.
