Four-year letterman in baseball and was an All-South Carolina performer … was twice named South Carolina Player of the Year at two different positions and was a third-team All-American as a designated hitter …earned Academic All-America citations … twice named the Southern Conference’s Player of the Year … led the team in hitting three consecutive years … paced the team in wins two straight seasons … captured the Senior Class’s Sportsmanship Award in 1977 … played minor league ball for the Atlanta Braves and Chicago White Sox organizations ... inducted into the Charleston Baseball Hall of Fame in 2008.
