CHARLESTON, S.C. – Thirty-one student-athletes from The Citadel were named to the Fall 2015 Academic All-Southern Conference Team,
it was announced Tuesday. The Bulldogs' 31 members were tied for the third-most among Southern Conference institutions.
Â
To be eligible for the academic all-conference team, student-athletes must carry at least a 3.3 cumulative grade-point average at the conclusion of the fall semester and were required to compete in at least one-half of their team's competitions during the recently concluded campaign. Additionally, the student-athletes must have successfully completed at least three semesters at their institutions, making true freshmen and first-year transfers ineligible for inclusion.
Â
Two of the 12 student-athletes in the Southern Conference who have maintained perfect 4.0 cumulative GPAs attend The Citadel. Both
Charles Braddock (cross country) and
Joe Crochet (football) earned that distinction. Crochet was named a first-team CoSIDA Academic All-American in December.
