
Bulldogs Continue to Break Records in Lexington, Va. on Saturday

LEXINGTON, Va. – The Citadel men and women's track and field teams competed in the VMI Team Challenge on Saturday, Jan. 27, at the Corps Physical Training Facility in Lexington, Va.

For the women's team, sophomore Kaeleigh Guth broke The Citadel women's record for the second week in row in the long jump with a personal-best jump of 18 feet, 5.75 inches to earn first place. Freshman Joie Royer broke the freshman record and earned the No. 4 spot on the program's all-time list in the 400 meters with a personal-best time of 59.67 seconds. She also earned the No.4 spot of all-time and set a personal-best in the 200 meters in 26.32.

Freshman Casey Miller earned seventh in the mile with a personal-best time of 5:34.25 and senior Asyria Daniels finished seventh in the long jump with 17-6.25 to tie her personal best.

For the men's team, senior Devin Singleton finished second in the 200 meters with a personal-best time of 22.16 to take the No.8 spot on the program's all-time list. Singleton was also fourth in the 400 meters in 49.80. Junior Josiah Johnson finished third in the 200 meters with a time of 22.45 and took third place in the 60-meter dash in 6.96. Senior Derrick Freeland was second in the weight throw with a toss of 59-6.25 and finished seventh in the shot put in 46-2.5.
