The Citadel's Keith Kacmar was the top individual shooter in a SEARC conference air rifle match in Raleigh, NC this past weekend.
Kacmar finished third overall with a 374 score in regular competition and fired a 469 to win the finals match between the top six individuals.
On Nov. 10, the Bulldogs finished third against highly-rated Army and Texas Christian teams on the West Point campus.
The teams fired a three-position course (120 rounds) smallbore rifle match and a 40-shot air rifle match.
"While we are near the top level in our conference," said coach William C. Smith, "it is a learning experience to travel and compete with the top teams in the country.
"However, the match experience will help to establish training goals for the remainder of the current season," he added.
The Citadel's Rifle Team currently has three wins and four losses in NCAA competition so far this season. The next match will be onJanuary 26 and will be held on The Citadel's campus.
