The Citadel's men's team finished seventh in a field of thirteen this past weekend at the Furman Invitational.
Leading the Dogs was Robert Killian with a season best time of 26:28 placing him 16th overall. Also with a season best and finishing second for The Citadel was Nick Gastley finishing 31st with a time of 27:20.
The Bulldogs finished behind conference foes East Tennessee State (4th) and Furman University (5th), the University of Tennessee took the team title with the University of Georgia second. Rounding out the top five were Marc Quesenberry (28:01), Vince Bechtel(29:12) and Brad Perricelli (29:24).
The Citadel's lone female competitor was freshman Kasey White who finishedin 23:29 on a very challenging course for a first year runner. Her two mile split was 14:28 with the last mile of Furman's course very hilly, particularly for a Charlestonian. The women will also run a short course(4k) this weekend at Winthrop.
The Bulldogs will travel to Winthrop this weekend and run a short course (6k) before an open weekend before the conference championships being host by the College of Charleston at the Dixie Plantation.
