The Citadel women's golf team (338-330=668) placed 21st following two rounds in the Great Smokies Women's Intercollegiate hosted by Western Carolina. Freshman Kayla Bowsher (84-77=161) tied for 65th to lead the Bulldogs, while freshman Tracy Hancock (84-78=162) tied for 68th.

Suzanne Campbell (86-84=170), Kelley Thorsen (84-93=177) and Mary Nguyen (95-91=186) also battled for the Bulldogs.

Winning the 24-team tournament was Western Carolina shooting a two day total of 586 strokes.

The women will be competing next at the 2002 Bethune and Cookman College/Coca Cola Invitational held in Daytona Beach, FL on October 25-27.
