The Citadel dropped three games to zero against Furman in their home stadium Saturday morning, after a tough loss to Wofford on Friday evening.
The match lasted a brief hour with the Paladins pounding kills from every direction. Outside hitter Abby Simon led the offense with 12 kills, while middle hitter Julia Fredrickson had ten and a .389 hitting percentage. Caitlin White had three out of four kills for a .750 percentage, while outside hitters Amber Montague and Carrie Rowley had .455 and .385 hitting percentages, respectfully, which contributed to the fast paced, dominating offense. Simon and Rawley also led in the dig category with 11 and ten.
Freshman Samantha Parisi led the Bulldog offense with a .333 hitting percentage and tallied eight digs. Senior Nicole Mantu had seven kills and ten digs in the match.
Furman is now 15-11, 10-4 in the Southern Conference, and will travel to Spartanburg to play Wofford on October 30 at 7:00pm. The Bulldogs (5-17, 0-13 SoCon) leave for a bout of road trips, beginning at South Carolina State on October 29. They return home on November 16 for their final conference weekend against Western Carolina and Chattanooga.
