The Citadel Wins Battle Of Lady Bulldogs, 3-1

Orangeburg, SC - The South Carolina State University volleyball suffered their fourth loss in a row, Tuesday evening in a 3-1 loss the The Citadel Lady Bulldogs. The Citadel defense proved to up to the challenge scoring 11.5 total team blocks and 53 digs in the contest.

Junior outside hitter Keiuiana Boykin led the way for S.C. State, scoring 19 kills in the loss. Senior middle hitter Avanti Bolden also added 15 kills and six digs.

The Citadel posted four players with double-digit kills in the contest, led by junior Lindsey Hodge's 18 kills on the night. Sophomore Audra Ritchie also added 12 kills and 12 digs in the win. Freshman Amber Davis added 11 kills while fellow freshman Samantha Parisi added 10.

S.C. State (11-15, 3-7 MEAC) will not have long to fret, however, as they will next face the University of Maryland-Eastern Shore on Friday evening. The Citadel (6-17, 0-13 SoCon) will head up to Greensboro, North Carolina to face UNC-Greensboro in a Southern Conference match.
