Kaitlyn Martin, Roberta Quis and Rebecca Teichgraeber celebrated senior day in style as the the Davidson volleyball team knocked off the Citadel, 30-17, 30-10 and 30-15, Saturday afternoon in Belk Arena. The victory pushes Davidson to 18-9 overall and 11-4 in the Southern Conference while The Citadel falls to 6-19 and 0-15.
Quis paced the Wildcats with match highs in kills (14) and service aces (four) while hitting .571. Defensively, Teichgraeber led all players with 12 digs. Martin chipped in with four digs and two aces. Freshman Rachel Gleed added six putaways on a .714 attack percentage as well.
The Bulldogs' Nicole Mantu paced the visitors, finishing with seven kills. Setter Katie Livingston added 14 assists and five digs.
Davidson returns to action this Tuesday, Nov. 5, against UNC Greensboro. The Wildcats host the Spartans in Belk Arena at 7 p.m. The Citadel next plays at Appalachian State on Nov. 9 at 7 p.m.
