Citadel receiver Scooter Johnson and tailback Nehemiah Broughton were named to the first-team all-Southern Conference squad selected by the league's football coaches Tuesday.
Citadel center Chad Boozer, kicker Travis Zobel and defensive end Cliff Washburn were named to the second team.
Johnson, a junior, led the SoCon with a school-record 69 catches while Broughton, a sophomore from North Charleston High School, was third in rushing with 1,038 yards in 12 games.
Zobel made 14 of 19 field goals this season, matching a Citadel record for field goals in a season. Washburn, the former basketball standout playing his first season of football since sixth grade, also tied a school record with 12 sacks, second in the league. He was fourth in the SoCon with 20 tackles for loss.
Georgia Southern QB Chaz Williams was offensive player of the year; App State defensive end Josh Jeffries the defensive player; GSU fullback Jermaine Austin freshman of the year; and VMI's Cal McCombs coach of the year.
