Kacmar Named Bulldog-of-the-Week

Feb. 19, 2002

Charleston, SC - Sophomore Keith Kacmar, a 5'8'', 145-pound native of Valencia, CA, was named The Citadel's Bulldog-of-the-Week for his efforts in the NCAA sectionals at Clemson and throughout the rifle team's season.

Prior to the NCAA sectionals Kacmar had posted scores of 376 and 377 out of a possible 400 points. At the sectionals Kacmar shot an amazing 389 to lead his team to a victory over archrival North Georgia. The Citadel's shooters scored a total of 1496, 30 points higher than North Georgia due partly to the exceptional shooting of Kacmar.

"He's on the bubble for making the NCAA's," said Coach Bill Smith. The top 40 individual shooters in the nation will compete in this on March 15 at Murray State.

Other Bulldogs up for consideration for the award were Matt Stubbs and Sharon Hacker.
