Charleston, SC - The Citadel's rifle team captured the South Eastern Air Rifle Conference Championships by posting a score of 1479. NC State and Wofford scored 1452 and 981 respectively. The team was lead by, the possible NCAA qualifier, Keith Kacmar.

Citadel won the season SEARC team championship and the NCAA match with Kieth Kacmar taking first, Janean Tavares took third overall and Forrest Payne came in fourth.

This marks the first time the team has won the SEARC Championships since rifle was reinstated as a varstiy sport.

"We shot an average match, but this should be enough to place us at the champions on the overall points as well," stated Coach Bill Smith.

The Citadel's last championship came in 1999.
