Greenville, SC - The Furman volleyball team improved to 8-7 overall and 3-1 in Southern Conference play with a 30-14, 30-24, 31-29 victory over The Citadel Saturday afternoon at Timmons Arena.

Senior Carrie Rowley (Lighthouse Point, Fla.) led the Lady Paladins with a tea-high 11 kills, 14 digs and two block solos. Julia Fredrickson (Dallas, texas) chipped in ten kills and six digs for furman, while freshman Molly Rybak (Bloomington, Minn.) had a team-high 24 assists.

The Citadel, 3-7 overall and 0-3 in SoCon play, was paced by senior Nicole Mantu's 12 kills and eight digs.

The Lady Paladins, winners of three consecutive Southern Conference matches, will play host to Clemson on Tuesday at Timmons Arena. The match is slated for 7:00p.m. The Citadel will host East Tennessee State on September 27.
