The Citadel wrestling team worked over instate competitor Anderson College by a score of 43-0. Dutch Fork High School played host to the two South Carolina collegiate programs. The Bulldogs improve their record to 8-2 with six dual meets remaining.
Wins by Ryan McClester, Sean Markey, Mike Martinez, Vince Bartges, Travis Piccard, James Rose, Keith Clifton, John Bohren, Jordan Everett and Billy Linane sealed the shutout for the grapplers.
17th ranked (Amateur Wrestling News) Sean Markey is now number one in the nation in Division I wrestling at the 133-pound weight class for tallying a total of fourteen falls. Markey is third in the country with his fourteen pins in all weight classes in collegiate wrestling.
"Extremely kind of Dutch Fork High School to host this interstate dual," stated head coach Rob Hjerling. "Anderson wrestled real hard and they will continue to build a good program. They have a lot of good young talent. We have a big weekend ahead to focus on with Davidson and Virginia."
