The Citadel Volleyball team lost their tenth conference match of the season against Georgia Southern 3-0 Tuesday night in Southern Conference action in McAlister Field House.
The Bulldogs played three intense games, but could not put up numbers to overcome the Eagles and were defeated 21-30, 19-30 and 18-30, extending their record to 3-17, 0-10 in the SoCon.
Sophomore outside hitter Stefanie Farris led The Citadel with 10 kills and one service ace. Senior middle blocker Lindsey Hodge contributed six kills, one service ace and three total blocks.
Leading the Eagles (14-9, 9-1 SoCon) was senior middle blocker Erin Martin with 16 kills, two service aces, six digs and one solo block. Senior outside hitter Martina Veiglova and freshman middle blocker Jennifer Charles added 11 and 9 kills respectively.
"I'm disappointed in the way the girls played tonight. Hopefully, we put on a better performance this weekend and come up with a conference win," coach Wendy Anderson stated.
The Bulldogs will take on East Tennessee State Friday, October 24 at 7 p.m. and Chattanooga on Saturday, October 25 at 2 p.m. in McAlister Field House.
