Despite placing four shooters in the top ten finals match, The Citadel rifle team finished second place to North Carolina State in a SEARC conference match Saturday, October 25th in Raleigh, NC.
The Citadel totaled 1507 points, to wrap up 11 points behind NCSU. Behind the Bulldogs were Clemson with 1462 points, North Georgia, 1417, Georgia Military, 1396 and Wofford, 1006.
"I was hoping we would finish first, but they shot well and I'm content with our performance. Again, Kacmar was the top shooter in the match and finals," head coach Bill Smith said.
Bulldog senior shooter Keith Kacmar received overall honors in both match and finals. He shot 387, along with sophomore Amara Atella's 376 and sophomore Vanessa Swan and junior Jason Dickerson's 373 and 371, respectively.
The Citadel will host Wofford Saturday, November 1st in a match that will have The Citadel men and women competing against each other.
