The Citadel Volleyball tied the all-time series against South Carolina State 3-3 in a 3-2 win of the season's second battle of the Bulldogs Monday night at McAlister Field House.
The Citadel Bulldogs extended the match to five games after toppling SCSU in the second, fourth and final games with scores of 30-16, 30-25 and 15-3.
Senior middle blocker Lindsey Hodge led the Citadel with 19 kills, seven service aces and three solo blocks. Sophomore outside hitter Samantha Parisi also contributed 19 kills, along with 13 digs and one solo block.
"The girls really played well tonight. They've shown a lot of improvement and I hope that it continues through the remainder of the season," coach Wendy Anderson said.
Leading South Carolina State was junior middle blocker Keiuana Boykin who contributed two service aces and 11 digs. Freshman setter Aubrey Posadas added nine kills, six assists, five digs and one solo block.
The Citadel will be taking on Appalachian State on Friday, October 10 at 7 p.m. at McAlister Field House.
