Chicago, IL - The Chicago State Lady Cougars returned to the win column here on Sunday afternoon with a four-game non-conference victory over The Citadel (30-20, 28-30, 30-17, 30-25).

After losing three straight matches, CSU was able to use solid hitting and strong serving to post its sixth win of the season heading into the final two weeks of the regular season.

In the first game, Citadel jumped out to a 5-1 lead before CSU scored four straight to pull within a point at 6-5. After Citadel tied the game at 11-11, CSU went on a 11-3 run to take a commanding 22-14 lead. After Citadel scored three of the next six points to pull to 25-17, before the Lady Cougars ended the game by scoring five of the game's final eight points to post a 30-20 win. In the first game, CSU hit .370 and held the Bulldogs to a .100 hitting percentage.

The Citadel rebounded in the second game to jump out to a 10-2 lead and expanded its lead to 14-5 before CSU score eight of the next 11 points to pull within 17-16. Following CSU's run, Citadel scored nine of the next 14 points to take a 27-21 lead, before CSU went on a 7-2 run to pull within 29-28, before the Bulldogs ended the game on a kill by Stefanie Farris to tie the match at a game apiece.
