Charleston, SC -
The Citadel's football team is unranked again this week. Even a share of the Southern Conference title is all but out of reach, and the Division I-AA playoffs ... well, who knows what thoughts linger in the heads of the selection committee?
Last week's 42-16 loss to No. 5 Wofford took a big bite out of Citadel dreams. But as coach Ellis Johnson ponders a three-game road stretch to end the season, he says the Bulldogs still have a lot of important goals in front of them.
"Saturday put a cloud over a lot of things these kids have accomplished, things I didn't think could be done this year," Johnson said Monday at his weekly news conference. "And I really don't want anything to happen as we wind this thing down to take the shine off what they've done.
"We still have a lot to play for, and a lot of things can still happen for us."
