Charleston, SC - The Citadel tennis team played host to a competitive double header on March 12, beginning at 9 am against Hampton which they fell short 4-3. Then continuing play after lunch at 2 pm against Radford, when they claimed victory, 4-3, at the Donald C. Bunch Courts at the Earle Tennis Center.

The Bulldogs (6-9) began the day against the Pirates (4-2) with solid performance in singles play. In the number one seed, Matt Stubbs defeated Carlos Pinto, 4-6, 6-3, 1-1 (retired with injury). Followed by John Williams, in the number two seed, out scoring his opponent Ladislav Rezac, 6-0, 6-3. Warren Woolfolk continued his tremendous play by defeating Albert Asiedu-ofei, 6-2, 6-2, in the number six seed.

In the afternoon match, the Bulldogs battled against the Highlanders (5-5) in impressive play during the doubles matches by winning all of the possible three. Stubbs/Williams out played their foes from Radford, Brandon Johnson/Joakim Arhammar, 8-0. In the number two seed, David Lara/Woolfolk defeated Andre Cavaco/Aruthur Vasarevic, 8-4. To complete the sweep, Nick Medica/Lawrence Tere out scored Dominic Soeur/Robel Mengisteab, 8-2.

The Bulldogs' will step back on the court tomorrow to continue their hard play against the Dukes from James Madison on March 13 at 2 pm at the Earle Tennis Center. Admission is free to the matches and fans are encouraged to come and root on the Bulldogs while they enjoy complementary hotdogs.
