The men's 4x100m and 4x400m relay teams traveled to the University of Pennsylvania's Franklin Field to participate in the 109th Penn Relays, April 24-26. The Citadel joined over 100,000 athletes from around the world and performed in front of 39,783 spectators, the fourth largest crowd ever.
For the third straight year the 4x100m squad found themselves atop the podium, as they struck gold in the Military Relay. The Bulldog foursome of Kenyon Doyle, J.T. Marbury, Charles Watson and Jeff Witherspoon followed up their second place Southern Conference Championship performance by running a 42.10 relay to outdistance VMI, Army, Navy and the Coast Guard.
It was the first time the 4x400m team participated and found themselves among an elite group, including track and field national powerhouse Texas Christian. Bulldog members Kenyon Doyle, J.T Marbury, Alex Price and Charles Watson ran a 3:17.09. Prince will continue to prepare for the NCAA East Regional at George Mason May 30.
The Bulldogs next stop is Athens, Georgia Saturday, May 3, to take part in the Georgia Invitational.
