Men's Tennis Helps with NCAA Y.E.S. Clinic at NCAA Championship

May 19, 2003

Athens, GA - Head coach Toby Simpson and four of his current players traveled to Athens, GA this weekend to help run the Youth Education in Sports (Y.E.S.) Clinic sponsored by the NCAA.

"This was a great opportunity for our program to help the NCAA and the Y.E.S. program." Coach Simpson stated. "It's great to help with clinics like this and see the joy that these kids get from playing tennis."

The Y.E.S. clinics are held at each National Championship site that is hosted by the NCAA. Coach Simpson was selected by the NCAA to help run the clinic and was allowed to bring some players to help teach. The players selected by Coach Simpson to attend were junior Matt Stubbs, junior John Williams, freshman Nick Medica, and freshman Warren Woolfolk. "The NCAA has done a terrific job in making these clinics a fun and enjoyable way to teach kids the game of tennis," Simpson added "For us to be able to participate in this event, on our sport's biggest stage, is truly an honor for our program."
