Junior Alex Prince wrapped up his third track season as a Bulldog at the inaugural NCAA East Regional Outdoor Track and Field Championships held in Fairfax, VA May, 10-31, on the campus of George Mason University. Prince represented The Citadel in the 400m with a time of 47.84. His 26th-place finish pleased the coaches proved better than his initial ranking of 34th.
"With the new NCAA format it was very exciting to qualify someone for the region meet the first year," commented head coach Jody Huddleston. "It was a learning experience for both Alex and our staff, our season is usually over following the Penn Relays and to have to train and compete for another month was difficult. Our goal was to break 47 seconds at the region meet and came up short, but we will have a better idea and plan for next year."
