The Citadel sealed their first season victory 3-0 against Bethune-Cookman in nonconference volleyball action Friday night in McAlister Field House.
The Bulldogs played three thrilling games of intense volleyball of which they outscored the Wildcats 30-17; 30-23; and 30-21.
Leading the Citadel were junior middle blocker Audra Ritchie who racked in 17 kills on 23 attempts and three digs. Lindsey Hodge, a senior outside hitter, followed with 14 kill and six service aces. Senior setter Desiree Browning added 38 assists and two kills
Outside hitter Melissa Sanders led Bethune-Cookman with ten kills and four digs, while hitter Jafna Davies added seven kills and three digs.
The Bulldogs will be traveling to Savannah, GA to take on Savannah State in a 6 p.m. match-up on September 16.
