The women's golf team began the 2003 season under rainy conditions this weekend in Myrtle Beach at the Unlimited Potential/Bay Tree Classic hosted by the College of Charleston.

"The weather conditions made for tough play," commented assistant coach Kimberly Lewellen. "The girls played great and we look forward to our next event in late September at Sea Trail Golf Resort in Myrtle Beach, SC."

Kayla Bowsher, Suzanne Campbell, Kelley Thorsen, Tracy Hancock, and Mary Nguyen represented The Citadel. In the Silver Course Championship, Kayla Bowsher finished ninth with a total score of 161 and Kelley Thorsen finished 35th with a total score of 169.

The women return to the links, while the men open their season, September 26-28, for the Sea Trail Intercollegiate Golf Tournament hosted by Elon.
